I remember a warm Saturday evening in the middle of August 1962 and I was driving my 57 Chevy, on a double date with my best buddy and our girls. We were heading to Indiana Beach for a fun evening and listening to Dick Biondi, the dj on WLS Chicago, when he played Sherry Baby for the first time for listeners to vote on whether or not they liked it. By the time we left Indiana Beach that night, it was the #1 most requested song theyd ever played and we heard it several times on the way home. Great time and fond memories from back in the day!
