I remember as a young girl being told about Emmett Till. I was truly beyond words and heartbroken. Later, my grandmother told me about one of our relatives who was brutally murdered and left to die in public because he was trying to help someone. He went to assist and aid a young lady who was being attacked and raped in her front yard...only for the attack and later death to become his fate. Though it was public knowledge who the attackers were, they were not arrested or charged. Unfortunately, this kind of cruelty and injustice still exists...IN AMERICA. Rest in Power Emmett. Well never forget.
