I remember before deploying the notes that were put out that we would be providing security for our U.S. troops and allies to extract there A.O.s (area of operation)i even remember daily news blogs stating that this war was coming to an end. I along with my brother who have suffered life changing injuries and for those of us in combat MOSs now know the truth, while being here in RC south which is currently known to be the most dangerous place in the world at present time. Soldiers are still dieing and being injured so obviously this war isnt over and the people back home who report to our U.S. people are talking about someplace they have never been what i mean by that is they dont go on the missions out side of the wire with us.they report from inside the foward operating base.(inside the wire means there in somewhat of a safe zone in side the F.O.B. Forward operating base) so in saying that there intel is a very unreliable source which shouldnt have come to be a big surprise to me but yet i find myself baffled ...As a soldier my mission was changed a couple of times since ive been in country, it went from providing security to securing hwy1 which then turned to looking for and capturing H.V.T.s (high value targets) and let me tell you first hand that this war isnt over there are bullets still flying and bombs going off and mortar attacks on a daily basis ...all i could say is keep praying for your loved ones who are here ....
