I remember between ages 8 and 10 y.o. spending time with my moms - TopicsExpress

I remember between ages 8 and 10 y.o. spending time with my moms family in Trelawny, my grandfather a farmer grew basically everything we ate except maybe butter and salt. We had cows(milk), goats, chicken(eggs), sugar-cane(sugar), coconuts(coconut oil) and all the ground provisions you can imagine, some of which used to be sold in the market on Saturdays not for the money but like some village get-together, even I used to sell a few dry coconuts I found under trees and gave to my aunt to sell for me, just to be involved. Suddenly foreigners started operations farming at about a dozen times the size of my grandfather, but their produce was never seen in Jamaica. Fast-forward a couple decades and Jamaicans with a love for all things foreign have higglers who would insist on oly selling foreign carrots and foreign onions sidelined our Jamaican farmers and when the dust settled we were one of the most indebted nations. I like the part in the video that said IMF policies create hunger, thanks Timothy..............
