I remember first meeting Alan at the Billich art gallery around 2010 or so. I was sitting at the piano just having a play and noticed this man watching me from the balcony. He came down and stood next to me and the piano constantly staring at the instrument. I said: You like the piano hey? Alan: Yeah I know this instrument pretty well.. Then without a seconds notice while he still was standing next to me, he launched into this mad crazy jazz fusion virtuosic piano playing that nearly made me have a heart attack!!! haha He then invited me to a jam session at the basement the next night at 12pm where he would play with Nigel Kennedy (invite only)! even though i lived all the way up in the blue mountains i just thought theres no way i could pass up seeing this guy perform live... Went along and it was just awesome.
