I remember getting the phone call from Staci over 15 years ago. She was at Neff Auto getting her car worked on. She told me there was this dog...not more than a year old covered in mange and no hair on it at all. She begged me to bring it home. Of course, we took him in. We had just bought a golden retriever and named him Coach. We got this stray dog and figured what better name than AC (assistant coach). Over 15 years later, through two hurricanes, losing a home, a child with kidney disease, and 8 or 9 moves (cant even remember anymore) AC was the most consistent thing in our lives. Today...we laid him to rest. We are going to miss those telling barks...the bark of someone he didnt know, the bark of someone he did know, and the times we swore he was trying his best to actually speak to us. I am so glad we decided to take him in that day...and he will be sorely missed in the Davis household. Its just not gonna be the same.
