I remember reading the reasons/debate in First Man but can the people who know explain to me: Its the first walk on the Moon. They knew the historic significance of many things, but why was a photo of Neil on the surface by Buzz *not* part of the surface plan, a sort of Contingency Photo for History. I know Neil had the camera mounted to him [brilliant, btw] but still... it must be me thats still a bit weirded out that what we have from the surface is one shot of Neil with back turned, a couple of other incomplete ones, and thats it. The 16mm is nice, but a flag salute type photo of Neil would have been so iconic I cant imagine it not being *the* most famous/used photo, if it had been taken.
