I remember talking briefly about Ebola while in Biology, and the thought of this virus spreading is not a very pleasant one. Fortunately, there is no cause for immediate alarm. Given our health care system, it would not be difficult to control this virus if it were to ever make its way to the United States. Also, Ebola is not spread through the air but rather through close contact with blood, organs, or bodily fluids. That being said, it would be difficult to become widely spread. Unfortunately, however, countries in Africa are struggling to fight against this virus, and many others, due to their weak health care infrastructure. This is just another reminder to give to countries that are less fortunate than we are if you ever have the chance.
