I remember that day. I was on active duty, TDY to the Inspector General training course in the DC area when we heard the news. We all knew: we were at war. Not with a nation-state, but with radical Islam. This began the most unconventional war weve ever fought. And, yes, Martha...Islam, as expressed in this form is the enemy...politically. And just to remind you...Ecclesiastes teaches us there is a time for war. This was one of those times. I recall a kind hearted president whose voice trembled with grief and anger saying how we would engage our national enemies. Quite a difference from our current incumbent--who I pray for--who doesnt really seem to care about us, except how current events might affect his next tee time. I remember my brothers in uniform ready to saddle up and go find the enemy. As a nation, we were ready to engage this political enemy. All this makes me remember who our real Enemy is. Not flesh and blood...but principalities, powers...spiritual wickedness in high places. This is the real war that drives the temporal events around us. And, like it or not, we are engaged. Decisively. This is the real conflict, and it will end when the Lord finally defeats Satan. The question here: will you be engaged with us?
