I remember the 80s. We had a republican government, full of wacky media characters who hated women and poor people and other countries. They were against renewable energy and equal pay and dont even get me started on minorities, gays and women. The balance of power in our system perpetually swings from side to side, and through it all, stuff we like to happen, it happens. Stuff we dont like, that happens too. Somehow, despite the circus, the country continues to move forward, and slowly becomes more socially progressive, overall. So, to me it just seems like more of the same. Hey, you guys cant get anything done up there, well give the slight majority to the other guys for awhile! Nope, they cant really do much either, well try you guys out again. Nope, still dont like that, how about these other guys, maybe theyve figured it out by now. Huh, I really thought it would be different this time. Rinse. Lather. Repeat. Always repeat.
