I remember the cross channel ferry, Dover - Calais, December 1981. - TopicsExpress

I remember the cross channel ferry, Dover - Calais, December 1981. The storm was ferocious, the crossing was almost (but not quite) as bad as this. Doors to the deck were locked. Standup ashtrays flew across the bar room. Many passengers (& crew) were violently sick. Im surprised the captain left Dover! However, if he hadnt, I would not have gotten to Poland because marshal law was declared the next day. So I wouldnt have been allowed entry. Hence I would not have met my wife. The words Through hell and high water spring to mind. Personally I enjoyed the adventure (and I still do!). Rock & Roll!!
