I remember the first time I listened to GaGa. I loved her first album, just that, another pop singer. And then The Fame Monster came out and I could relate to almost every single lyric in each song. And thats when I knew it was about to get personal. I started following her and her performances, all the meaning hidden behind her actions and costumes and fell in love with GaGa. I remember putting my headphones in while I was in school, which wasnt a particulary good experience for me, and her voice would just make everything alright. Seeing her live for the first time, I couldnt help but shed a tear. After all, the voice, the woman who helped me going through so much was right there in front of me. Then a few months later Born This Way was out, and I, once again, just related to most of the songs so much it would be just unbearable to spend a day without listening to it. Marry The Night, the song on this post, was one of songs that spoke to me the most - Im gonna marry the night, Im not gonna cry anymore - being through depression, this song kept me sane and reminded me to be strong and that I had something or someone to hold on to. I might have went away a bit during ArtPop, but it certainly wasnt for good. After listening to that album after the hype around it was gone, I reminded myself why I loved GaGa and her so much. I might not follow her like I used to or express my love for as often, but she certainly marked me in a good way, and keeps on doing it. With every album, I discovred myself in many different ways every time. And now I find myself in a new country, facing new kinds of fears, specially loneliness, and somehow I tuned to GaGa again. So, lie the song says, Im gonna Marry The Night - which is a metaphor for my loneliness - and Im gonna face my new fears and let go of my insecurities and kill the monstersthat this new adventure in my life brings. Thank you Lady Gaga for inspiring me once again.
