I remember this day so vividly. I worked for Clinique at the time, and I remember going outside and seeing the air and it looked like it was snowing but it was soot! I left early to pick Michaella up from a little Halloween party and while on the 30 fwy I hit total chaos. I somehow got off the fwy at Del Rosa and went up the street to grab her and all you could see was black smoke surrounding you. It was seriously one of the scariest things I have ever encountered! We went home and packed my car with all of our pictures and clothes and just hoped and prayed that it would be contained. After it was all out, the whole Del rosa area looked apacolyptic. It was like something from a movie. I remember turning the air on in my car and for two years after I could still smell the smoke, even after I changed the filter! But now, as all these years have passed, the neighborhood has been completely rebuilt with beautiful homes that serve as a reminder of what happened that day.
