I remember when I was a kid, someone called me a cracker, and another time a honky and another time white trash. I had a hard time caring about these insults, because I couldnt understand how anything about being white could be bad. And white trash meant the lowest form of white person, but again, I knew that I wasnt so how could this possibly be meant to hurt me. Recently I have been called a race baiter. Because I care about the suffering that black people are having to deal with right now. And being supportive of their efforts to get equal treatment by our police officers and the justice system. I guess that this negative term should bother me, but to me it is just an inaccurate insult that couldnt possibly bother me. I know in my heart that there is a problem here. I see everyone the same, and that others do not, to the point that it is causing my fellow Americans to live in fear. So I guess if some people are compelled to call me a race baiter, I will just shrug my shoulders and keep on keeping on. It just doesnt bother me.
