I remember when the state first brought my baby girl to live with us, she was 13 months, she had a black eye, she was very quiet... she had on an over sized snow suite. I could not see her face. I remember the state worker going over all the paper work, her history, telling us about the screaming issue she had and that we were her 6th placement, again I could not see her, all I could think of is 6 foster homes in 8 months. Again Kaia was very quiet barely moving. Finally I went to her and gently pulled her hood off.. I remember thinking I just need to see her. That moment... that very moment when I saw her, when I saw her eyes, I knew with out a doubt she was my daughter. It was a difficult journey... but the day we adopted her was one of the best days of my life, what I knew to be true from the very beginning (I was her mother) was official. Today on Kaia-Simones 6th birthday I am filled with joy, my God is a mighty one and I prayed for my daughter... I do not over look that. Raising a daughter is an honor, Today on her 6th birthday I am moved to tears because this beautiful little being has blessed my life in ways I can never fully articulate. I want to wish my princess, my diva, my little lawyer, my superstar, my Onyx-Kaia, my daughter a very happy Birthday
