I remember writing my first novel as if it were just yesterday. I worked 12 hour shifts at a manufacturing company, and attended college full-time. Between my kids, work and school it seemed nearly impossible to find time for writing. I would come in from work completely drained and go straight to school on zero hours of sleep, but once in front of my laptop, the tiredness would retreat as I slipped off into a fictional world of characters with problems much deeper than my own. Some weeks Id write in solitude for hours on top of hours, not visiting or even calling friends and family members. I pushed and pushed for a year and a half and then it was finally complete.
