I remembered when i was in class one day, i had this friend;a lady colleague. As much as i know that she is entitled to her opinion as much as i am entitled to mine, i was so shocked that someone at her level & exposure could say this: i can never get married to a man that does not own a car & cannot afford a classy engagement & wedding ring I just wondered & all i could say was shoooo!. I couldnt believe my ears then i asked her; God forbid, what if something happens to the car? what if he later becomes poor? what would you do?. Need i tell u that i was left with the worst of offensive words? ...hmm. I hear a lot of persons say things like that or having semblance i can never get married to a security man. I can never get married to a man without ambition. I can never get married to a man thats not yet made. I can never get married to a lady thats jobless. I can never settle down with someone whos future is not bright, etc hmmm... From my brief years in this life, Ive seen a lot of weird contradictions.Some of the people we write off & think theyve got no future are the ones who make it bigger later in life. Some third class graduates are bosses where first class graduates are working as mere cleaners & attendants. Some security men earn more than bankers Some illiterates are bosses to graduates we have all heared of zero to hero stories where people who never thought theyll ever make it in life miraculously gain favour. Remember that Edo state widow?, the go & die story! She left her house a street hawker, the next day she became an instant millionaire & also became a worker at the government house. A mans destiny is something no one can tell. God can overturn situations in just a second. No one should be written off in life. That street destitute begging for #20 aid today could become the president of this nation tomorrow. No one is unambitious, it is circumstances that limit some people, though we all have different zeal & fighting spirit. Often times, circumstances relegate some & favour others, notwithstanding, they have little or nothing to tell about their eventual end or destiny. You cannot judge people by their present status or circumstance! We have seen university graduates today that are road drivers, okada men, etc & also, there are secondary school leavers that are working in comfortable places. Its just Time & chance or opportutunity that makes the difference! Do not build friendship or relationship on the basis of your judgement of someones material possesion or financial status, but on their persona; the quality of their personality & humaneness. Money or material gains may come & go, its who d person is dat makes d friendship/ relationship worthwhile, loving & enjoyable. A marriage that is centered on money & material gains may begins 2 fall apart. Its not money dat will last a relationship, but Love,Trust & Understanding! Dont get this write-up wrong!
