I request , all my friends, brothers and sisters, acquaintances - TopicsExpress

I request , all my friends, brothers and sisters, acquaintances and strangers, to raise their voice against the growing commercialization of the sacred institution called as marriage. The "Mazimyor" culture in Kashmir has demolished and withered away the very benchmarks one would consider while entering into Nikah. Our sisters have to undergo a mental torture by first parading before these brokers and only after seeking their opinions and approvals, the "suitable" match is suggested. The confidence of our sisters (and their families) is ransacked, just by the concocted narration of an ignorant greedy Manzimyor, who scares them off with pessimism. Kashmiri people have been held as psychological hostages by these few manipulative morons who would sell prospective groom and bride resumes at dearer prices. Even in some cases, families have been deceived by presenting an other reality of the spoilt brats, only to make some more money at the cost of innocent lives. Some years back, marriages would be much simpler. Although Wazwan has been an inseparable part of our life, yet marriages would not be tangled in unnecessary rituals and customs which are seen today. Even if a family wants to render as per its own worth, these Manzimyors would ensure that our marriages should get as complicated and extravagant as possible. Irony is that, we all have succumbed to their protocols. Again, the time our parents got married, the employment of a girl was never a consideration. Even in some cases, parents have married off their sons whilst in their studies and then the family collectively was taken care of by the elders. However today, how many sisters and brothers have crossed the desirable age of marriage only because "employment" criteria is not fulfilled. This again is a procreation of Manzyimyor cult who glorified this "employment" criteria to such an extent that it has become the holy grail of seekers. Considering the occupational history of Kashmir, our youth are already undergoing tremendous economic, social and political chaos, and when anything remains, the forced bachelorhood is the last nail in the coffin which has intertwined itself into ugly flesh trade. I remember one Hadees of Rasoollullah sallalahualaihiwasallam in which it was mentioned that there will be a time when fornication would become easy and Nikah would become difficult. Perhaps these are the times which were referred to. Lets request all the parents that this system of commodifying their children in front of those who are into the business for the sake of money only, be abandoned and such brokers be boycotted. Let the ties be strengthened with relatives, friends, neighbors and this would in turn help them to find the suitable matches for their sons and daughters. Let not others decide the protocols of Nikah and what our sons and daughters deserve. Have tawakkal in Allah Talah, after all it is He who is the disposer of all affairs.
