I retired 11 years ago. I worked ever ATC discipline including a Manual Approach Control at Kaneohe MCAS. I am a Commercial Pilot/Flight Instructor and have been since 1971. I watched the new TV program entitled Scorpion. In all my years I did not know that ATC depended on LAX tower and a Ferrari 458 going down a runway at 200 mph so a waitress standing through the sunroof could plug a chord from an airplane flying 8 feet above the runway with the copilot standing on the extended nose gear and dangling that chord into a laptop that was in the Ferrari being held by the waitress so they could download the software in the airplane that was uncorrupted into the laptop so the laptop could upload the airplanes software to the tower whose software was corrupted with the midnight update so LAX tower could land the 56 airplanes that needed LAX towers software to navigate and land and were below other facilities reach Whew! I get tired just thinking about the misrepresentations.
