I returned my parents carpet cleaner to them last night, with that I gave them some carpet cleaner. My father who likes to get me going started a debate with me as to whether or not it needed to be diluted. I said No just pour it in the cleaner section and fill the other side up with water.. He replied so it does need to be diluted! No, it does not need to be pre-diluted because obviously you add water into the machine. Therefore, the machine dilutes it... We went back and forth, annoying my mom :) When I got home, there was an email from my Dad that said Thank You. Being his daughter, I couldnt end it.... This was our following conversation...which is completely stupid but, made me laugh. If you know us both you will understand and realize he did not take offense to my final remark :) (Me) Youre welcome Instructions for use Remove the top canister from the device Remove gray caps from both sides of container Poor approximately 3 oz of the continents inside the old windex bottle which is now labeled rug cleaner in fine penmanship with a black Sharpie. The liquid inside is a concentrated cleaner. Do not pre-dilute! Poor this inside the section of the canister labeled cleaner Fill the other section with tap water from your faucet of choice, make sure this water is hot. Liquids in both sections will combine when in use, concentrated cleaner will then be diluted. Replace caps and insert canister back into machine. Confirm dial on the front if this canister is turned to indicate wash. Unwrap the electrical cord from its retainer located on the back side of the handle and insert the prongs into an electrical outlet. Recline the upright handle by pushing on the gray lever located on the bottom right side of the back of machine. Push the red power button located on the left front side of machine near the water/cleaner canister. With your hand wrapped around the handle, press the trigger. Trigger is located behind the handle. Trigger must be held while in the shampooing phase. Proceed to move the machine forward slowly over the soiled carpet you desire to clean. This step may be repeated additionally depending on how soiled the area is. Once all area has been covered thoroughly, retrace the area this time with the trigger released. This will allow the water/cleaner solution to be suctioned into the dirty water basin, located on the front-bottom of the machine. when the basin is full, push the red power button to turn off the machine.(location of the button is stated previously) and with the handle lever still in a reclined position, lift the basin by its handle, either lift the latch to remove the lid of the basin or unscrew the gray cap from the bottom and dispose the dirty water solution down your drain of choice. This water will be discolored from dirt that the cleaner released from the fibers of your carpet. Return container to machine. If repetition is not required, you may unplug the electrical cord from the outlet and wrap it back up on its retainer, that is after you have resumed the handle to the upright position.
