I said this in 7th of july 2011 and I spected read this SSLA PASSES TRANSITIONAL CONSTITUTION Thursday, July 7, 2011 - 18:40 Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly passed late last evening the Transitional Constitution for South Sudan after two months of heated debate between SPLM members and the opposition, including the civil society and faith based groups. The Transitional Constitution serves as the guiding legal document for the new republic for the next four years while a permanent fundamental law is prepared. SPLM Member of Parliament Peter Basher Gbandi said most MPs were against a decentralised system proposed by the Transitional Constitution instead of the current federalised system of governance. He added that multi-powers given to the president like dismissing an elected governor were okay since the president enjoyed those powers during the interim period. SPLM-DC Onyoti Adigo Nyakwach, who leads the opposition in the parliament, said the non-SPLM parties will have marginal participation in the National Assembly during the transitional phase. He also disagreed with honorable Bashir on the powers given to the president to dismissed elected governors and state assemblies. Mr. Adigo said SPLM MPs were under great pressure from their leadership to pass the Constitution as it was prepared. Some South Sudanese used Face Book to express their disappointment about the approved Transitional Constitution. Susan Mongalla Rungo wrote: How can we smile and celebrate while bleeding inside intensively? Patrick Riruyo said the Transition Constitution is very unfortunate for the people of South Sudan.
