I sat for a while and pondered the Ray Rice situation. There are so many issues. Should a man hit a woman? Should a woman hit a man? How should we view a woman going back to a man that hit her? Can a man or woman change their behavior if they ever hit a woman? Should your employer fire you for out of work issues? Is an athlete really a public figure? Should public figures be treated differently than regular people? I wish the answers were easy ones to figure out but the truth is relationships are matters of the heart filled with passionate emotions. People are human and exhibit bad behavior at times. I dont know all the answers nor do I think the answers to these questions clarify anything for Ray Rice and his family. At the end of the day, I hope and pray he changes his behavior, I hope and pray his wife changes her behavior, I hope and pray that their children can somewhat be isolated from all of this craziness and have a normal childhood and I hope and pray that we all learn from their tragic experience cause while you can take the high and mighty pulpit now, your day might be right around that very short corner called life.
