I saw Lone Survivor today. It was compelling, mesmerizing, sad, too realistic, etc., etc., etc. I think every young person should see it to realize that defending their country is not all Glamor and Guts. I thank God that we have those who are willing to defend our freedom and prevent another 911, but at the same time, they need to see the reality involved. It reminded me of a video that was presented at a high school assembly during the Korean War ( oh, excuse me, President Truman, Korean Action?) that portrayed actual footage from the war (I will not go into detail) in order to convince the many young men and women that they need to at least graduate from high school before entering the military (many were choosing to quit school and enter the service at 16 to defend our beautiful country). Thank you to all those wonderful men and women who defend our right to freedom; I hope to live to see the day when there is no war. And, a personal thank you to my Grandson, Steve Therrien, for choosing to be one of those special human beings.
