I saw on the Cooking Channel and Food Network they are doing some things to raise awareness about child hunger. That is awesome. A week ago at Mass the priest told us a statistic (I have no idea where he got this or how accurate) but I dont doubt it. He said that here in America, that for every bite we eat, another bite is thrown away. I see it myself. It happens in my home too. I use to work in a resturaunt and I saw it there too. Its amazing how much food we waste, how we resist left overs, how we expect our produce and our supper to be and look perfect or it gets thrown away. We over eat and at the same time throw food away. We have been blessed with so much, its our duty, not the governments, but our duty to make sure we are good stewards of those blessings and care for our brothers and sisters. We want to complain about our food supply or our farming industry or blame McDonalds for making us fat, we should hope that McDonalds would make the world fat because people are out there that are have nots and we eat more than we need and throw away food that could feed families
