I saw something really cool tonight. It is rare I watch tv. Almost nil% the chance I even tune in for a second on PBS. But I stopped on Antiques Roadshow when I saw early 20th Century baseball cards. The last card the appraisal expert showed cased was a card never seen before. 100 years old and it is the first time a card has ever been seen. Wow. Even more impressive? It was a man from Biloxi. How many hurricanes, rats, silver fish, humid days and spiders did a thin piece of paper like that survive? To a baseball card nerd like me it is like finding an Unkown Picasso. Or for ladies who love shoes, it is Like finding the perfect Choos, unworn, in the box for a quarter at a yard sale. pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/archive/201004A39.html
