I saw that today is World Prematurity Day, and thought Id share these beauties from 24 years ago. I was born almost 3 months early and weighed 2lbs. & 3oz. at birth. I remember my parents and family telling stories about how the doctors said I would not live past young childhood and that I was supposed to have a lot of developmental disabilities if I did live. I am so grateful for my family, the nurses and doctors who took care of me then! ( I have a really cool memorial bald spot on my head from all of the IVs and such!) I dont have any pictures of Luke, but he is also a miracle preemie! It is amazing how far technology and medicine have come. One day, I hope to be a vital part of the nutrition care that helps these little miracles thrive!
