I saw the announcement of this merger yesterday, and had trouble believing it. Now, its reality has sunk in. No matter how you look at it, this would be disastrous for those of us who have cable internet, and even more so for people who have cable television. The service from these too big to care giants is already abysmally bad. Yet, if theres a merger, they will find new depths to which to sink. Comcast already has effective monopolies in most of its markets - which is already deeply anti-competitive. They acquired all of NBC Universal last year. They lobbied the FCC to do away with Net Neutrality, thereby allowing them literally to throttle their media competition. This merger with their Time-Warner would be so anti-competitive as to give Teddy Roosevelts ghost trouble sleeping! The DoJ and FCC have to be held accountable to the public, and have to prevent this ridiculous behemoth from ever seeing the light of day.
