I think new games being priced at $60 crosses a psychological barrier that causes game buyers to back off a lot more readily than $50--which was already too high to begin with. This reminds me of the jump from 25 cents to 50 for arcade games in the late 80s and early 90s which was, maybe coincidentally, followed by a major slump in the industry. Couple that with a new generation of consoles being more restrictive than before, and mobile gaming that charges its users a few bucks per title, and another slump is a sure thing.
