I say this all the time but Hollywood can you PLEASE, PLEASE, PRETTY, pretty please with sugar and a maraschino cherry on top use REAL people who truly have an accent to train these actors for a role? I love Legend of Bagger Vance and like Charlize Theron but that so called Southern accent she uses is atrocious! I have NEVER in all of my years growing up and living in the South/Southeast heard ANYONE talk with that accent she uses! Like melted butter on a hot muffin! UGH!! Just use local people who live there and know the area as consultants, not these so called experts. How can a man from Russia who immigrated to & lives in New York be an expert on Southern accents? Using those frauds as experts, you get Southerners, Georgians, Texans, Virginians, Minnesotans, Mid-westerners and every other accent dead azz wrong, smdh!
