I say this in no way to try and prove or disprove the existence of anything supernatural. With that in mind, I think the Bible is a dangerous book that can do harm. Theres socially disagreeable things in it (discrimination, condemnation, hypocritical advocacies, etc.), but its dangerous in another way. There are instructions on how to walk outside of culture. Instructions to not conform and to think of every moment as if you are dwelling in a separate reality. Imagine living outside of an engineered status quo and having the tools to live in a more natural world with less constructs to interact with. I also think the Bible is becoming passe mostly because it has the potential to destroy power structures. So, in turn, oligarchic systems attempt to emphasize the reasons to to dismiss it entirely. It doesnt matter if youre a hardcore atheist - there is just some shit in there you should read and consider. Its a book with lots of books in it. To not like some of them is natural, but there is some real earth shattering truths in it if you are able to dig a bit deeper, theism aside.
