I see a lot of people discussing Islam, Muslims and who should apologize to whom and for what. The most common misconceptions I see is a) a tiny minority of Muslims support militant jihad b) a majority of Muslims support militant jihad. Both are demonstrably wrong. The truth of the matter is that a significant minority of Muslims supports it, even if they dont vocalize it on a regular basis and dont themselves participate in any illegal actions. Asking for apologies from people who had nothing to do with this or that attack (everyone looks at France right now, but literally thousands of people were killed by Islamists at the same time in Nigeria, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan and other countries) is pointless and self-indulgent. It is the same as asking Americans that they apologize for slavery. Whats done is done and thats that. No amount of crocodile tears will ever change that. However, asking people that they take a long, hard look at an ideology that breeds so many killers and accomplices and demanding that they cut out the cancerous parts that make it so, is perfectly legitimate. In fact, it is crucial for the future of mankind. To cap, some good points from someone more important and probably smarter than yours truly.
