I see everybody posting about using dryer lint as a fire starter. I hate to bust your bubble, but it is not all it is cracked up to be. Speaking from personal experience with what I thought was good fire starter!! Think about what you run thru your dryer...is everything 100% cotton...Im thinking probably not!!! So you are talking a mixture of blends...most blends DO NOT BURN, THEY MELT!!! So unless you are treating your dryer lint with petroleum jelly (p-jelly)...you are wasting your time and in an emergency situation...time is valuable to your life... take my advice: cardboard egg carton sawdust candle wax cotton ball Fill egg carton with mixture of sawdust and wax. Insert a cotton ball in top of mixture with a bit of cotton ball sticking out. Last step - coat cotton ball with p-jelly!!! Not my idea, somebody else came up with it but it works and an individual egg will burn for about 15 minutes - even in the rain... GET RID OF THE DRYER LINT!!!!
