I see so many people here saying based on Raven-Symonés interview with Oprah Winfrey last night they are NOT African-anything. I dont think in her interview that she was shunning being a person of color -- she was shunning labels. Something we all should strive for. Nevertheless, some say that they are Black American and some say other. I agree at the end of the day that we are indeed American but Africa is a part of my lineage. I have even see some say that Africans dont like it when Americans call themselves African-American. Again, not true. Its about self identification. I respect Ravens right to identify as she sees fit but I am proudly and unapologetically African-American.
