I see the church derided with mockery & scorn. I see critics exaggerating her weakness & incapable of affirming any if her strengths. I see many leaving the church instead of loving her for better or for worse. I see lots of my peers who have 20/20 vision for the churchs failings, but are nearsighted to their own pride, self importance, & mutual self-congratulation. I see a willful ignorance to the churchs history, a simplistic understanding of its past errors, & a childish impatience for her current struggles. To be sure, let us lament with broken hearts the impurities yet to be washed clean from Christs bride.
