I share this dilemma, but have come to a place of peace with being - TopicsExpress

I share this dilemma, but have come to a place of peace with being identified as Christian- even if its only one part in my spirituality- and even with all the people out there misrepresenting what being Christian means. Its the tradition I came from- a tradition that is now complimented by indigenous wisdom, by Buddhism, Sufism, and by being open to other faith traditions. My spirituality is also deeply inspired by science as a means of exploring this great creation God set in motion, and flows through in Spirit. Anything that deepens my understanding of the nature of existence, and that increases my compassion for all my relatives (Lakota), is part of my faith. Anything that degrades another human being or attempts to hide from spiritual, moral, or scientific truth I reject wholeheartedly. Its sad to me that so many of our Christian brothers and sisters behave as if they had no relatives (Lakota) and forget that whatever is done to the least of our brothers, is done to the Divine.
