I shared this love story with 715 students this morning. It will ROCK YOUR WORLD! Strangled by his umbilical cord, Rick Hoyt was born with severe brain damage. Doctors told his parents hes a vegetable, put him in an institution. His parent did NOT BELIEVE this. After several doctors, Ricks Dad, Dick asked one to tell Rick a joke. They did. Rick smiled. He wasnt brain dead after all! A computer was rigged which allowed Rick to type by pecking with the side of his cheeks. Rick heard of a 5k charity run at school. He asked his dad to push him in the race. He did. Rick pecked, It made me feel alive!. He asked his dad to do a marathon, they did! Then he asked Dick to do a triathlon.
