I sit alone Not afraid anymore Of being with no one but with my thoughts alone They say loneliness is a calamity A burden full of sorrow And indeed it pains the soul much To find none for its heart But loneliness is neither a burden nor a calamity If it builds your connection with Your Rab Then and only then Does it become a time of solace, of tranquility Never to be shared nor understood It stands through the test of time Of trials and of misery While others walk away Wiping tears on your shoulders Your connection with Him gets ever stronger For indeed only He accompanies your lonely journey home His words console you, when others’ sting you His Mercy covers you when others reveal you His Love protects you when others attack you His Grace accompanies you when others replace you True happiness lies here In the depth of darkness When no one is there To distract you from His Noor “I have in my breast both my heaven and my garden.
