I sit here, my Dad sleeping in chair with ragged unsteady breathing. He faces the open window of the outdoor nature he taught myself , sister and brother to so love. Every once in a while he sees the ducks fly into the back waters of Mississippi, smiles and points them out. The chickens, squirrels getting ready for winter. The stories he can tell about their day. I watch the hands that taught me to ride a horse, shoot a gun, ride a snowmobile, change a flat tire, as they pick at things not there, but I take them as if they are. He played the guitar, one of my favorite memories, late nights around a camp fire in the pasture, listening to ghost stories accompanied by singing and guitar. My kids now hear the story of the man with the golden arm, just no guitar with it and not from Grandpa. Not one usually to put such things on here, but shortly time will pass and he will not be here, but this will. He drove school bus and loved it, my two oldest had there first bus ride with grandpa and loved it. Also loved to be by himself, but always willing to listen and talk to anyone who he met with. He was never one to follow rules or conform to the way things should be done-yep I think he has left a little bit with all of us kids and grand kids. I just needed to say thanks Dustin and Heather for sharing your home and family with him, he has truly loved it. You boys Trent, Kaleb, Wyatt and Ty, he has loved the stories of hunting, fishing and i am sure girl stories. Thanks Kari for giving him shit right back, he does love it. Shelby for helping, even when so hard as a grandchild.Rick, Bailey, Luke and Madyson for being there, especially for pinning. Justine, Alex, Karl for sitting with Great grandma, listening to her stories while helped Dad. Great-grandma Lucy for being such a great Mom. Uncle Leonard for all the trips helping out. Neighbors for bringing food and checking on Grandma. My husband Jon for putting up with all the running. I need to go back to my sister in law Heather Lauden Olson wow, he loves his fluffy. Thanks for all you have done. Mayo hospice Wabasha, you are truly special people and thanks for just being there. Thats it for now. As he would say Enough!
