I slept 15 hours on my first night back in Britain. I guess six - TopicsExpress

I slept 15 hours on my first night back in Britain. I guess six months of criss-crossing time zones through 12 countries take their toll. People ask me whats it like to be back in London? Well, funnily enough its pretty much the same as when I left it. The only thing that hits you when youve been gone that long is how dirty, smoggy and polluted it is. On the rare occasion theres blue skies, its the poor air quality of LA rather than the cerulean azure of Australia or Bali. Other than that, its the same old same old - the antisocial sweaty and sweary stress heads on the bus (hopefully will die of a coronary before too long), the antisocial vile turds who think its ok to eat stinky noodles on the tube (hopefully will die of MSG overdose before too long), the pathetic pretentious hipsters forever chasing cool (whatever that is) who make a puddle look deep (and wholl hopefully drown in one before too long), and the endless glum miserable faces on narrow Mediaeval pavements struggling to coexist in an oversized overcrowded shit hole that boasts a quality of life on a par with Nairobi, that takes an eternity to get anywhere. Oh, I knew there was a reason I moved to Richmond before I left...
