I spent a lot of time today thinking of the past two weeks and turns of events that threw us onto unexpected paths and in my head I was trying to make sense of why things happened. This is what I came up with. I met a lady named Georgia who was relocated down here for work and was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and receiving treatment at Moffitts. I also spent some time talking with a man from Chicago named Barrett that left his family to come here to take care of his dad with leukemia, and another sweet woman named Liz that dropped everything in NY to come see to her sister with terminal cancer. These peoples lives were turned upside down, but they all offered a smile, a comforting shoulder, or some words of advice. I learned that there are people out there suffering all the time. And my world is not the exception. Its what we choose to do with it that makes us exceptional. My wish is that those people that touched my life have the feeling of peace that I did this afternoon. And that one day Ill be able to help improve a moment in someones life the way they did mine. Sleep well my friends, wherever you are.
