I spent last night till early hours of this morning reading and watching Youtube videos of Major Isaac Boro. The more I read about him, the more I find myself asking questions that no one is willing to give me answers to. The sentiments that inspired Isaac Boro to dump lectures at a chemistry lab of UNN Nsukka to storm his ancestral home of Oloibiri to cry and pressed for the economic emancipation of his people where Crude Oil was first discovered on the 15th January,1956... that sentiment still live with us today. I read of how Isaac Boro declared the Republic of Niger Delta during what is widely known as Kaiama declaration, a republic that lasted for only 12 days. I read of how Isaac Boro was arrested after the fall of his Republic and was later granted state pardon on the eve of the eve of the start of Nigerian civil in May 1967. I read of how Isaac Boro fought by the force of the Federal Force. I read of how he died in a controversial circumstance on the 9th of May, 1968 at Ogu in Okirika current day Rivers State. Those who killed Isaac Boro couldnt kill the economic inequalities He fought and died for. Those who killed Isaac Boro never knew that His death would give birth to many Isaac Boros who would dare the paths of economic emancipation of Niger Deltans Boro agitated for. I now know much about him, unlike before that the only thing I knew of hm is Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt. I have one question, I demand an answer. I would like Gen Yakubu Gowon not to enter grave with this answer. My simple question is; WHO KILLED MAJOR ISAAC BORO? God help Nigeria!
