I spent nearly four hours last night deleting every single picture - TopicsExpress

I spent nearly four hours last night deleting every single picture on my Facebook page prior to the year 2014. Over 1000 pics were erased. And while there was no single motivating factor which inspired this purge, the images all seemed irrelevant and outdated. Regardless, the expulsion of my Facebook memories does not erase the actual events that occurred. Remember, Facebook is NOT real life. Rather, it is a place where we come to escape reality. Facebook is a world of strings and illusions. It’s a world where we are the puppet masters and architects of our cyber personas. We can portray any image of ourselves that we choose… both literally and figuratively. I too indulge in this fantasy world as it offers a release. After all, escapism is a very healthy and necessary exercise in human existence provided that we don’t forgot who we are beneath the masks which we wear. Of course, I really don’t know why I’m telling you all this. You probably don’t care. You probably shouldn’t. However, it’s ironic that I have 256 Facebook friends and only one of you actually knows what is really going on in my life. Perhaps, this is where the truth lies. Perhaps in a sense, this is where the reality in Facebook exists. Or maybe I’m just stringing you along. If you know what I mean…
