I spent the morning with Mija. She worked hard in therapy. The OT was happy with her progress from last week on her grooming skills. PT and OT did a co treatment session where they did a lot of stretching and massage because Mijas neck and upper back muscles were tight. We listened to music and she mouthed the chorus to Family Tradition! After therapy she was trying to tell something but Im not good at reading lips so I got her white board out and she wrote jump street #22. I asked her if she wanted to watch it and she said yes! That launched a bunch of eye brow raises and head nods when I talked about Channing Tatum! I left around noon since I had worked last night and I needed to sleep! She was willing to let me sleep in her bed but I told her she needed to rest. Denise came in after lunch: Mija and I went to the TBI session this afternoon. It was on dealing with good and bad emotions. They did a charade like game where the residents picked a certain emotion to act out, and the others had to guess that emotion. After class Mija laid down for a rest. We watched some videos on YouTube, which she really focused on. I played Goodbye Earl, by the dixie chicks, and asked her if it reminded her of Margo and Katie doing it at Karoke. She raised her eyebrows and giggled (inside joke ). She was so happy to have seen Mauri today. Nothing like sister time. Mija had to have a not too pleasant procedure done later this afternoon, but did get the last laugh (kinda evil) at us, as we had a malfunction occur. Kathy came in soon after, and mija was more than delighted to have her back. Thanks for all of the continued prayers and good vibes/karma and please keep them coming!
