I spent this past weekend with family and friends saying goodbye - TopicsExpress

I spent this past weekend with family and friends saying goodbye to my dad. There are many ways to describe him. For one thing, he was kind of a geek. He loved fantasy and science fiction, especially the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. He played World of Warcraft and loved everything having to do with wizards and dragons. Ok, so he was more than kind of a geek. But this caused him to help build who I am today. He told me it was ok to love pokemon and DnD. Hell, he even supported me through writing Nuzlocke fan fiction (no, I wont show it to you). The nerdiness was not the only thing we shared. I was lucky (?) enough to get my dads sense of humor. We would try and tell dumb jokes and make the other laugh on numerous occasions. He also loved terrible things. We would often go to see movies that were particularly bad and eat food that was probably even worse. Growing up, this would be most of our Sundays together after my parents got divorced. For a lot of my life, my relationship with my dad was a weird one. Unfortunately, he passed away right as we were starting to build up a new relationship at new stages in each of our lives, respectively. I didnt just lose a father, I lost one of the kindest, most positive, and empathetic people I have ever known. Scott Hanna, I will miss you. You left too soon. I have and always will love you.
