I spoke on the floor of the U.S. Senate earlier to mark one year since Superstorm Sandy hit New York and the surrounding region. Today we honor all the lives lost in that devastating storm and all those who were impacted and continue to struggle to recover. Superstorm Sandy damaged 300k homes and impacted 250k businesses and while the road to recovery is long, I know New Yorkers will rebuild even better and stronger than before. Weve come a long way in one year but there is still more to do, to help New Yorkers continue to rebuild as well as to prepare for future storms.
