I spoke to ABC Illawarra this morning about the Greens call for feral deer to be declared a pest species. We need to implement a professional, humane state-wide program to eradicate and control this significant environmental and agricultural threat, rather than the current ad-hoc and ineffective amateur hunting regime weve got. We dont even know how many deer there are in NSW! At the very least a comprehensive census of population numbers should be undertaken as a priority.
