I started my first batch of mead 13 days ago. Its a one gallon batch with blackberries. The OG was 1.117. I pitched one packet of hydrated D47 and I used yeast nutrient/energizer made for wine. Ive been stirring daily to de-gas and knock down the fruit, and I have been feeding it nutrient/energizer every couple of days. I have it fermenting at 60*F, which was towards the lower end of the yeasts range. I checked gravity today, and its at 1.054. Im a beer brewer, and to me it seems to be attenuating really slowly. Is it moving at a normal pace, or should it have attenuated more by now? I dont mind being patient, and waiting. I know good meads take time. Im just not sure what to expect as far as how long this might take to fully attenuate. Thanks!
