I started training martial arts in the mid 90s in a Air Force base - TopicsExpress

I started training martial arts in the mid 90s in a Air Force base gym in Northeast Louisiana with Muay Thai. I quickly realized though I love the art its not really meant for someone of my stature. (short and stalky) So I looked around for something else. Tried a karate school and I felt like they teacher was just sucking me out of my money, then Tai Chi where I learned a lot but I felt the techniques I learned wouldnt be very useful in a real life street situation so I kept looking.. Till one day I met Duke Ducas, and started learning Aikido and BBJ and never looked back from there. The following video is an example of a Aikido master and yes very well know movie star Steven Segal though I always thought he was a horrible actor. Despite what most people think these moves are not fake and look staged only because the students know how to roll with the technique. In a real life situation against someone that doesnt know something usually ends up breaking something. A lot of counter moves and small joint manipulation in the wrist and fingers. Foot work is probably the most important aspect of the techniques. youtube/watch?v=fH6HtkySiCQ
