I started watching The Jimmy Swaggart Crusades on Sunday Night, Sept 29, 1981 via WOR-TV 9 in New York City after coming home from my Brothers Wedding. Two weeks later, during Bro. Swaggarts altar call, I gave my heart and life to Jesus Christ. I had never been to Church before and even after I got saved watching the Crusades, I didnt know of a Church in my area that preached what he preached. I was still ignorant about all of this because I was raised Jewish. In about July of 1982, while I was STILL watching the Crusades every Sunday, Brother Swaggart had announced on TV that he was coming to NYC to hold Crusades at Madison Square Garden on Friday Night Sept.. 24th, Saturday Night Sept. 25th, and Sunday Afternoon Sept. 26th. From The Winter of 1976 to the fall of 1980, I WORKED at Madison Square Garden as a vendor and I had always envied the people that I saw sitting in the Front Row for Rock Concerts, so after I saw that Bro. Swaggart was coming to the Garden, I prayed to God and asked him to PLEASE let me sit Front Row -Dead Center for the first night of the Crusade. Well, I got down to The Garden at about 9am and needless to say, I was the first on line. The doors werent going to open until 5:30 pm, so I had a very long wait ahead of me, but I was WILLING to do it. At about 5:30 pm, the doors opened and because I had worked there and I knew the Garden well and I dashed to the Front Row and the Lord had answered my Prayer. I immediately fell to my knees at the Front Row -Dead Center seat I got giving thanks to the God who made this possible! The music portion of the Service was great, but it was TOTALLY surreal and I couldnt believe this was happening!. Because I was still an infant in Christ that night, I didnt fully understand Bro. Swaggarts Message Pulling Down Strongholds, but of course I FULLY understand it NOW (AND HAVE FOR MANY YEARS NOW). His Message Pulling Down Strongholds is fantastic but it Pre-dates The Message of the Cross which God revealed to Bro. Swaggart in 1997. The KEYNOTE thing he said which was error in todays terms was Make Up You Mind. As we AND Bro. Swaggart have come to since 1982, Making up your mind to defeat the Sin Nature DOESNT WORK! In order to overcome the Sin Nature, you have to start by placing your Faith EXCLUSIVELY in Jesus Christ and His Finished work on the Cross as it relates to not only your Salvation but as it relates to your Sanctification as well. By the Way, The rather tall gentleman with the BIG Red hair, yellow shirt, blue blazer and blue jeans sitting Front Row-Dead Center is YOURS TRULY! :-) FOOTNOTE: There is a close-up of a Black Gentleman in the beginning of this video while Bro, Swaggart is praying. His name is Bob Williams. This gentleman (who I didnt even know) was used by God on Sunday (I also went to the Saturday Night Crusade, but I didnt go to the Crusade on Sunday) to escort me into my First A/G Church which was right across the street from where I lived on Sunday, Sept. 26, 1982! :-) youtu.be/FWjS-K42mZk
