I still like to take a ride past 28th n Harvey, I still like to stroll down 26th st, I like to go shopping on Cermack n Harlem whenever I can, I still like to eat at Michael Anthonys and Als pizza for great food and drinks. I still like to dine out at Freddys from time to time. My favorite ice cream place in the world is Tastee Freeze. Ill never forget the old cars stacked on the pole at the Cermack plaza that the town tore down that my grandmother would slip my mother money whenever we passed it and said this is for Jimmys car that he wants when she was really slipping her some cash for us to have some fun and a little spending money. Ill never forget the times we used to have a blast at Big Daddys and Pat & Joes for the Hobby Day parades and how my mother would take me to Cermack Rd to party and celebrate when the Bulls won the championships in the 90s and I was a kid with half of my body hanging out of one of her old Buicks while she was blaring on the horn and I was cheering on people on the street with big Dennis Rodman, Micheal Jordan, and Scottie Pippen posters everywhere and the Berwyn and Cicero police were all over the place trying to control the crowd! Ill never forget growing up in Cicero with me and my mom in the basement apartment and my auntie and uncle Roger and one of my favorite cousins upstairs from us and how I used to ride my bat mobile to grandmas house across the street. Never forget the times me and my mom would break down In one of those beat up cars trying to pick up grandma from work or how the time the 87 Regal got stolen and Cicero found it the next day in an alley and from there on out the car had to be started with a screw driver. Never forget the grade schools like Kommensky, Hiawatha, and Piper I got kicked out of for being a little prick and getting into fights or some shit I shouldnt of been getting into. Ill never forget the time me and ma pulled into the gas station on 26th n Ridgeland and got chased out of by an undercover cop that was flashing his gun and whipping his handcuffs at the windshield because there was a drug bust going on and he was trying to chase us outta there. Never forget the time that crazy bastard Randy chased me down the block with a baseball bat because I got into a fight with his son and then my mother used one of my fathers connections to go to his house and give him a nice little chat and how Randy came apologizing to us the next day. Lol. If your not from Cicero and/or Berwyn, you will never understand those good times and bad times. But I will tell ya that no matter what I do and how successful I become, I will never forget where I came from!!!
